1. Baking Soda and Water
Baking soda is an effective treatment for blackheads as well as acne. The reason baking soda helps is because of it’s small, fine, granules that can work as a natural exfoliate and remove anything clogging your pores that causes blackheads.
You will need
- Baking soda
- Fresh water ( enough to make a paste)
Directions:
Mix water with enough baking soda to form a thick paste. Very gently massage the paste into your skin circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with plain water, pat your face dry and then moisturize your skin.
2. Green Tea
Green tea mildly exfoliates your skin and soothes the skin at the same time.
You will need
- 1 tablespoon dry green tea leaves
- water enough to make a thick paste
Directions:
Mix dry green tea leaves with a little water to make a paste. Gently scrub the paste over the affected area for two to three minutes. This scrub deep cleans oily skin and helps unclog pores. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and then moisturize.
3. Use Lemon as a Toner
Lemon is know for its skin lightening properties but did you know it can tighten your open pores too.
You will need
- 1 part lemon juice
- 3 parts water
- cotton pad or cotton ball
Directions:
Combine lemon juice and water in the proportion mentioned above and apply it with a cotton pad before moisturising your face. Repeat this every time you wash your face.
4. Charcoal Peel Off Mask
Charcoal is great for those with oily or acne-prone skin. It really cleans the pores deeply and helps get rid of all oils and dirt. But people with sensitive skin should avoid using this mask.
You will need
- Charcoal Capsules
- PVA Glue or Gelatine
- Warm water (if you are using gelatine)
Directions:
Extract the charcoal powder from the capsules and add the glue or the diluted gelatine to make a thick paste. Apply the mixture onto the affected area and peel off very gently once it is completely dry. Once again it is not suitable for sensitive skin and be very gentle and act with caution.
5. Sugar Scrub
We use sugar scrub as a face scrub, lip scrub, body scrub and there are endless ways to use it as it the most gentle scrub which cleans your pores and helps get rid of dry skin. It gently cleans dirt from pores and get rid of blackheads with regular use.
You will need
- Granulated sugar (white or brown whichever you prefer)
- Coconut oil or Honey enough to make paste
Directions:
Mix both the ingredients to form a paste. Start with a freshly washed face. Scrub your skin with the mixture for 2-3 minutes and then rinse off with cool water. Do this process regularly to get desired results.
6. Honey

All you need to do is take a spoonful of honey and gently apply all over the affected area where your blackheads are. The honey will stick to the pores of your skin and eventually pull out the blackheads. Let it stay for 5-7 minutes and then wash it off first with lukewarm water and then with cold water. You can warm the honey for better results. If you do this regularly, you are surely going to see blackheads vanish from nose within a couple of days.
7. Steam It Out
Steaming your face will soften the pores and the process of removing blackheads will become easier. Be extremely carefull and do not hurt yourself. People with sensitive skin and people who are new to skin care things and are still learning should avoid this method.
